family therapist position is a rewarding way to help broken
families repair their relationships! You will learn how to work
within the Family Law and Dependency legal system from a
child-centered approach.
You will be given an opportunity to learn the skills you need to be
successful in this position via a curriculum of training materials,
case consultation, and personal instruction.--As a court family
therapist, you will start part-time (working up to 15 to 20 hours
per week) and grow into a full-time and salary position as your
caseload increases.

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Licensed Family and Child
Play Therapist to join our fun, connected, and positive-minded
group of professionals. The ideal candidate enjoys working on a
team, is organized, and is open to new experiences and learning new
skills. They also have to be great with children and understand the
unique ways to connect and communicate with them.
While our practice helps a wide variety of clients and diagnoses,
we also specialize in working with families that are dealing with
high-conflict divorce (i.e., checking in with the kiddos!). As we
work with a lot of court-involved or court-ordered cases, we
provide full in-house training on working with these cases and full
support through every step of what may be an unfamiliar process! We
are looking for someone passionate about working within a
child-centered lens to prioritize children who may be hurting. The
ideal candidate can work with a variety of clients, including young
children, adolescents, adults, and families.
We are looking for someone willing to start part-time (15-20 hours
per week, at 10-15 clients) and willing to grow into full-time (35
to 40 hours per week, at 25 -30 clients). Our position hours
generally run with client hours from Monday through Friday, 11 am
to 8 pm, or Tuesday, 11 am to 8 pm,--through Friday & Saturday, 9
am to 6 pm.
We offer both salary and fee-for-service pay models to meet
employees' needs. Compensation for licensed candidates starts at
$65 per clinical hour.
We are open to associate license-holding candidates who are
attachment-based. Compensation for associates starts at $50 per
clinical hour.
Responsibilities:
--- Maintain a professional appearance and professional attitude in
face-to-face interactions as well as on the telephone, via virtual
meetings, and on social media
--- Participate in team meetings
--- Quickly develop a good rapport with clients to facilitate a
healthy professional relationship
--- Complete intake assessments which include documentation such as
Mental Status Exams intake paperwork and other assessments
--- Communicate with referral sources as well as primary care
physicians (PCP) after initial intake and as needed for ongoing
care of clients
--- Complete invoices, bill payments, and progress notes within 24
hours of the time of service
--- Complete timesheet daily reflecting billable hours worked
--- Maintain client's charts and keep complete and correct
documentation
--- Monitor caseload and schedule to make sure clients are being
scheduled or discharged as needed, and schedule parent consultation
sessions as appropriate
--- Notify FCT within 24 hours if you: 1. learn of your client's
intent to do harm to self or others; 2. Receive a subpoena in
relation to your work as a therapist regarding a client obtained
via FCT or counseling services performed at FCT's facilities or 3.
File a child or adult protective services report
--- Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment
--- Monitor email and other communication channels, and provide
timely responses to both teammates and clients to ensure a high
standard of care
--- Maintain a clean working environment
Qualifications:
--- Master's Degree in Professional Counseling or related field and
registered or licensed in the state of California (LMFT, LPCC,
LCSW, PsyD, PhD, etc.)
--- At least 1 year of family systems therapy training and
experience
--- Clinical experience with children, teens, adults, and/or
families with mental health issues (trauma, anxiety, depression,
family issues, couples' issues, parenting, etc.)
--- Play Therapy experience
--- Knowledge of strategies for examining, applying, and evaluating
various techniques and knowledge of child and adult attachment and
positive parenting techniques
--- Must be warm, compassionate, energetic, and able to develop
rapport with clients
--- Ability to empathize with clients
--- Willingness to continue to learn and grow (i.e. court therapy
training provided in-house)
--- Maintain licensure requirements and complete continuing
education as stated in the BBS Statutes and Regulations
--- Must be able to use a computer proficiently and for prolonged
periods of time
--- Must have excellent communication, organization, and
time-management skills
--- Must be willing to train in and follow all HIPPA rules and
laws
--- Must be able to exercise sound clinical and professional
judgment while interacting with anyone associated with FCT
